WORKING TOGETHER TOWARDS SAFE DRIVING AND SAFER ROADS.

WHY COACHING?

Driver behaviour is a contributing factor to unforeseen/unnecessary costs, these can include damage, premature wear and tear and an increase in fuel use. We use CDL (client-centred learning) and coaching methods to best identify specific areas for driver development and apply advanced driver techniques as an effective method to improve performance and reduce running costs.

Businesses today rely upon real-time information and interaction. Therefore drivers may become distracted by phone calls. Vehicle technology is also on the increase and can also cause distraction, then there is also time pressure and driver fatigue to consider. These factors can increase the risk for drivers and other road users. Through our coaching, we develop a drivers skill and encourage a change in driver behaviour to help each individual driver to deal with these challenges in a confident manner, reducing the risk and increasing the safety.

DRIVING AT WORK COURSE STRUCTURE

Defensive Driving + Eco Driving = Safer Driving

THE CHALLENGE

Driving is statistically the most hazardous task that you will ask your employees to carry out. In the UK almost one in three road fatalities involves a driver on a journey for work purposes. Our Driving at Work training course has been created specifically with business drivers in mind and has been designed to equip them with knowledge and skills that help them stay safe on the road.

This on-road training course will improve driver safety. It will also benefit your business by reducing the incidence of collisions and associated downtime by helping your drivers develop a more efficient driving style that’s gentler on their vehicles.

THE STRUCTURE

Our driver training session coaches a wide range of skills that are essential tools for those who drive a car or LCV as part of their work commitments, including:

  • Vehicle inspection / risk assessment.
  • Identifying and manage risk regarding personal safety, ergonomics, fatigue and mobile phone use.
  • Enhanced driver behaviours (scan and plan).
  • How to drive in a fuel efficient manner (slow to flow etc).
  • Manage risk when conducting low speed manouevres (parking, traffic queues, etc).

Comprehensive driver evaluation report:

Upon completion of the training course, our trainer will provide feedback in the form of a comprehensive, structured report. This outlines in detail the driver’s performance across all sections of the course highlighting the development areas where progress has been made. Also included will be recommendations where agreed further development can be made.

This report forms the backbone of a robust audit trail for your training programme, confirming an employee’s participation in the course, and any additional coaching recommendations.

Driver report:

As a standard and where the vehicle permits the recording of figures, eco-driving data will be recorded. This will highlight the difference between pre and post-coaching.

Efficient driving techniques naturally result in larger safety margins, giving a more relaxed, less ‘reactive’ and better-controlled drive.

TESTIMONIALS

Thank you for an enjoyable and productive day, I certainly found it very useful and have implemented my key learnings from the day into my driving!

It is always good to step back and take some instruction, especially for those of us who spend so many hours on the road.

June

Superb course, trainer was really informative.

It has helped me with spatial awareness when reversing and I will now do things differently.
